An archival premium Quality art Print of the Zachary Taylor Portrait by James Reid Lambdin for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artist finished this portrait in 1848 with the original oil on canvas measuring 30 by 26 inches and now hangs in the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. Taylor was the 12 President of the United States serving from 1849 until 1850. He died of a stomach related illness after only serving 16 months in office. Through out his career as a professional soldier, Taylor never showed any interest in the World of Politics. However with his decisive wins in the Battles of Palo Alto, Monterey and Beuna Vista during the Mexican War changed all of this. Due to his national popularity, the Whig party talked him into running for President in 1848, an election in which he was the winner. Zachary Taylor first won National attention during the 2nd Seminole War when he earned the nickname "Old Rough and Ready". Famous People art print #57
