A T-44 Steamship at Sea one dollar obsolete southern civil war treasury bill issued in 1862 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This was the first one dollar bill issued by the Confederate government in the civil war. The center vignette features a steamship at sea, Lucy Pickens, wife of the South Carolina governor is on the right, Liberty standing by a shield is on the left. In the Fricke confederate currency book, he has this example listed as PF-3, which means it is from the 3rd series, rated on the rarity scale as R1 meaning common. Our grading is to be used as an estimate only. We have more than one Type 44 CSA currency available for sale but we have included pictures of the front and back of each bill currently in our inventory.
