CR #09 Virginia Obsolete ten Dollar Treasury Note 1862 crisp AU
A ten dollar obsolete treasury note from the commonwealth of Virginia issued October 15, 1862 from the second issue of Bills issued by VA during the Civil War for sale by Brandywine General Store. The left vignette is a portrait of Thor on a shield, in the center is Prosperity with a cornucopia flanked by 2 green X protectors. The serial number is 7824. Criswell ranked this Southern Money as CR #09 which means it was the 10.00 treasury that was printed on paper watermarked with a TEN. Our estimate of grade to be used as reference only is crisp almost uncirculated with a white spot in left center.
