Alabama Treasury 25 cent obsolete civil war change note 1863
An obsolete Alabama 25 cent treasury note issued during the Civil War on January 1st, 1863 for sale by Brandywine General Store. The Criswell number of this scrip is AL CR#5, the center vignette shows mules pulling a large wagon of cotton, the woman in lower right corner is Juliet Opie Hopkins. These notes are from the 1st Alabama issue which consisted of all lower denominations from 1.00 down. The grades we assign are just our estimates and are in no way guaranteed.
